T.H. Physical Therapist I (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a job family, Physical Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team, patients and their families, to plan the evaluation and treatment of the patient's needs and to develop and administer programs aimed at strengthening the body.
- Responsible for the daily operation in a specialty area;
- administers all aspects of patients' care and management in compliance with departmental policies and procedures;
- assists in administering the quality control program and may serve as the department's in-service training coordinator of clinical education and volunteer programs.
- Coordinates and participates in the orientation and training of all staff and students as needed in regards to physical therapy;
- interacts with medical staff regarding patients' needs;
- updates and recommends development of revised/new policies and procedures;
- organizes and coordinates activity in specialty treatment areas.
- Supervision is minimal; supervises subordinates.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Physical Therapy, NYS license and four years experience to include two years in specialty.
