T.H. Occupational Therapist I (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, Occupational Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team to devise and carry out specialized treatment programs aimed at enabling patients to return to their normal activities.
- Assists Associate Director of the hospital Occupational Therapy Program, in the development of program plans and departmental growth.
- Responsible for all aspects of patient care and management in compliance with departmental policies and procedures and the quality control program.
- Assists with the department in-service training program and the orientation and training of all medical staff as needed in regards to Occupational Therapy.
- May represent the department internally and externally, interacts with medical staff regarding patient needs;
- assists in the update and development of department policies and procedures, record keeping and inventory control programs.
- Supervision is minimal.
- Position supervises subordinate staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Occupational Therapy and NYS license. Four years experience to include one year in a supervisory/ administrative position.
