T.H. Medical Radiography Associate Director (SL5)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
The overall responsibilities of the positions in the Radiography job family collectively are to provide radiographic support services to medical staff in the areas of Diagnostics, Ultrasound, CT Scanning, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Serves as the chief assistant to the Radiography Director in discharging the responsibilities of that office that require general knowledge of all sub-unit specialties within the department.
- Responsible for the daily operations of the department, including the coordination of activities between all sub-service areas;
- preparation of service and supply contracts;
- coordinating with the Radiation Physics Laboratory on matters of safety;
- maintaining proper collaborative communication between administration and radiography related clinical areas;
- records, supplies and contract development and maintenance;
- coordinates and participates in student training and instruction to medical staff;
- responsible for general staff maintenance and development;
- updates, reviews, implements and monitors policies and procedures including quality assurance;
- coordinates and participates in special projects and ensures that patient service areas are orderly and non-contaminated.
- Incumbents work independently with consultative direction and provide direct supervision to subordinate supervisors and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS, NYS license and AART registry and a minimum of five years of experience, to include two to three years in administration/management. (AAS and experience may be substituted for BS).
