T.H. Medical Radiographer I (SL3)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
The overall responsibilities of the positions in the Radiography job family collectively are to provide radiographic support services to medical staff in the areas of Diagnostics, Ultrasound, CT Scanning, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Incumbents of this position possess special knowledge of the sub-specialty of Diagnostic or Special Procedures (may include MRI), Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine.
- They may function as the lead technician, chief technician or supervisor of a sub-unit(s) due to their expertise, knowledge and experience.
- They must possess a thorough knowledge of the department's policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance.
- This includes quality control and monitoring adherence to safety standards.
- They are responsible for daily staff scheduling and maintenance; providing ongoing training and instruction to department staff, students and all hospital medical staff;
- problem-solving regarding equipment usage and availability;
- the development and introduction of new techniques and procedures, their implementation, monitoring and enhancement.
- Incumbents work generally independently with consultative direction from the Director or designee, and may direct/supervise subordinate technologists.
Preferred Qualifications:
AAS, NYS license and AART or other certification in specialty, minimum three years experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for AAS and experience.
