T.H. Clinical Technical Services Sterile Supply Senior Specialist (SL4)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Incuments of positions in this family are major suppliers of sterilized medical/surgical supplies in support of hospital patient care. They are required to have a thorough knowledge of all the specific needs of various areas in the hospital including OR, clinical areas, patient units and laboratories.

• Assures compliance with state and regulatory agencies.
• Develops and implements systems procedures and policies.
• Responsible for budgeting and final decisions of hiring.
• Develops, administers departmental operating plans, policies, programs and procedures.
• Stimulates, recommends and performs evaluations, research projects and training programs relevant and beneficial to the procurement, safe handling, distribution and utilization of sterile supplies.
• Gives leadership and direction to all departmental operations through the selection, training and management of assigned personnel.

Preferred Qualification:

AAS OR Technology or equivalent experience, certified OR Technician or American Hospital Association Certification, with at least five years experience to include two years in an administrative/supervisory capacity.
