T.H. Clinical Technical Services Sterile Supply Associate (SL2)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Incuments of positions in this family are major suppliers of sterilized medical/surgical supplies in support of hospital patient care. They are required to have a thorough knowledge of all the specific needs of various areas in the hospital including OR, clinical areas, patient units and laboratories.
- Assists in the daily operation of the department;
- develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures;
- assists in the development of operations reports and the conduct of external and internal surveys;
- assists in providing information and instruction to medical students and staff regarding the department's services, the sterilization process and the instrumentation packaging process.
- Administers the department's quality control and inventory control programs;
- coordinates and administers the department's inservice training program;
- responsible for staffing and receives general instruction and guidance from the Specialist;
- supervises subordinate Classified Service staff.
Preferred Qualification:
AAS OR Technology or equivalent experience, OR Certification, or American Hospital Association Certification, and one to three years related experience to include at least one year in an administrative/supervisory capacity.
