T.H. Clinical Technical Services Speech Pathologist I (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Incuments of positions in this family provide patient care services, including diagnostic speech, voice and language examinations, and provide bench and classroom instruction to all medical staff.
- Responsible for the coordination of the hospital Speech Pathology Program;
- assists in the formulation of policies and procedures to insure complete speech pathology services;
- responsible for quality assurance program;
- designs and constructs tests to obtain a tentative working diagnosis of the communication problem;
- manages all of the administrative detail such as scheduling patients, record keeping, supply inventories, etc., related to patient care provided.
- Maintains appropriate liaisons with colleges and universities in the area;
- organizes and provides clinical practicum for affiliating students;
- orients and supervises students of speech/language programs.
Preferred Qualification:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in speech pathology or its equivalent. Minimum three years clinical experience required.
