T.H. Clinical Technical Services EEG Senior Specialist (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
The incumbents in positions in this family perform neurophysiological tests, which measure the brain impulse frequencies and electrical potential, as in seizure disorders.
- Responsible for planning, daily operations and evaluation of all administrative and technical support functions of the Clinical Neurophysiology and/or Neurology Department.
- Maintains clinical neurophysiology services in accordance with standards established by the medical staff;
- plans and directs all daily operations of the Department;
- responsible for scheduling, work assignments, on-call arrangements, result reporting, payroll and attendance records, departmental statistics and other data as required.
- Supervises clinical and clerical staff;
- responsible for departmental supply functions including purchase orders and contractual services, the selection and recommendation of capital equipment for the Department;
- responsible for Departmental Policies and Procedures, Quality Assurance, etc.
- Prepares Departmental Budget;
- responsible for long range and facilities planning for the Department;
- represents the Department at administrative meetings and is technical liaison to the medical and nursing staff;
- responsible for department in service;
- participates in the instruction of neurology residents, medical students, fellows and allied health students, acts as technical advisor to students as required;
- performs other duties as required.
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree. Five years EEG experience in an acute care facility, with one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
