T.H. Clinical Laboratory Technologist I (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Application of the science of human behavior to persons with emotional or behavioral disorders to facilitate the normal growth and development of the individual.
- Works independently with consultative direction by laboratory management or laboratory director.
- Applies detailed specialized knowledge of scientific principles and their applications to perform advanced level testing in general or specific areas.
- Prepares reports that, if improperly done, have a significant impact on finances.
- Routinely provides direct supervision to subordinate staff and students.
- Directly interfaces with medical staff and other department supervisors.
- Develops and monitors in-service and continuing education programs for staff.
- Insures adherence to proper quality assurance standards.
- Implements new programs.
- Determines performance programs and does performance appraisals of subordinate staff.
- Presents didactic lectures and laboratory sessions to medical, nursing, and health related professions' students and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS and six years experience, MS preferred. Include two years supervisory/administrative capacity required. ASCP or equivalent required.
