T.H. Associate Director of Occupational Therapy (SL5)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, Occupational Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team to devise and carry out specialized treatment programs aimed at enabling patients to return to their normal activities.
- Responsible for the overall direction of the Hospital Occupational Therapy Program;
- develops program plans and fosters departmental growth;
- responsible for all aspects of patient care and management in compliance with departmental policies and procedures and the quality assurance program.
- Responsible for the department's educational program and the orientation and training of all medical staff and students as needed in regard to Occupational Therapy.
- Represents the department internally and externally and interacts with medical staff regarding patient needs;
- develops department policies and procedures and oversees record keeping and inventory control programs.
- Prepares budgets; plans, organizes, supervises and directs all staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Occupational Therapy and NYS license. Five years experience to include one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
