Student Activities Associate (SL2)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Is responsible for a portion of the student activities programming as assigned by the Director or may direct the student activities program at a small campus; does related work as required.

  • Works closely with various student groups as assigned such as orientation and freshman activities, student government;
  • assist new student groups seeking to become recognized student groups;
  • aids the Director in formulating policy as it relates to the activities program;
  • may act as a staff assistant to the Director in an area of responsibility such as budget formulation or preparation of college calendar.
  • Incumbent may assist in the training and supervision of orientation staff;
  • assists in the planning, design, implementation and coordination of the parent and student orientation program;
  • assist in the advisement, coordination, evaluation of programs and activities of the student organizations.
  • May work with major campus student organizations with emphasis on programming groups;
  • serve as a liaison with area institutions of higher education to exchange ideas and share bookings.
  • Incumbent may assist in the development and design of written material distributed by the office.
  • Assist in the coordination of college calendar; and
  • perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree with one to three years of experience in student activity programming.
