Student Activities Associate (SL2)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Is responsible for a portion of the student activities programming as assigned by the Director or may direct the student activities program at a small campus; does related work as required.
- Works closely with various student groups as assigned such as orientation and freshman activities, student government;
- assist new student groups seeking to become recognized student groups;
- aids the Director in formulating policy as it relates to the activities program;
- may act as a staff assistant to the Director in an area of responsibility such as budget formulation or preparation of college calendar.
- Incumbent may assist in the training and supervision of orientation staff;
- assists in the planning, design, implementation and coordination of the parent and student orientation program;
- assist in the advisement, coordination, evaluation of programs and activities of the student organizations.
- May work with major campus student organizations with emphasis on programming groups;
- serve as a liaison with area institutions of higher education to exchange ideas and share bookings.
- Incumbent may assist in the development and design of written material distributed by the office.
- Assist in the coordination of college calendar; and
- perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree with one to three years of experience in student activity programming.
