Radiology Technical Services Administrator (MP)
This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations. Appointees to this title may also possess concurrent faculty rank.
RADIOLOGY TECHNICAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR serves as administrative head of a radiology contractual service at a teaching and research hospital and acts as technical associate to the medical director. Does related work as required.
- Acts as administrator of a large radiology program involving diagnostic therapeutic, nuclear medicine, and radiation physics service to inpatient and outpatients;
- provides liaison between this service and other hospital and administrative units, as well as outside agencies;
- supervises the compilation of data and reports on the program for both administrative and technical purposes;
- handles all budget, personnel, and labor relations problems of the program;
- ensures maximum efficiency and utilization of equipment;
- determines that the program operations meet Federal, State and local standards, including those involving radiological safety;
- keeps abreast of the latest developments in radiological equipment;
- plans and directs demonstration and other teaching programs in radiological techniques for medical students, interns and residents;
- serves as director of a radiological technology school;
- provides overall coordination of the teaching programs, students, and instructional staff concerning a curriculum in radiology technology, represents the program at meetings;
- serves on committees.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and substantial administrative, technical and supervisory experience in the management of a large radiological service program.
