Inventory Control Manager (SL4)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Under the direction of the Director, the Inventory Control Manager determines a campuses stock requirements (ie. parts and equipment for maintenance, chemicals and substances for academic research and needs.) Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • ordering, receiving, and distributing stock;
  • coordinating and maintaining purchases with purchasing agents and/or vendors as appropriate;
  • developing manuals, catalogs, and inventory lists;
  • designing and overseeing a computerized inventory tracking and accounting system as appropriate;
  • sustaining a current inventory and stock consistent with the campuses;
  • needs and programs;
  • consulting with campus personnel on purchases.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Accounting or related field. Three years experience in procurement preferred.
