Director of Vocational Technical Education (MP)
This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.
DIRECTOR OF VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL EDUCATION, directs a statewide program for the growth and improvement of vocational-technical education.
- Is responsible for the development of curriculum courses and all instructional services available for individual programs;
- assists in the recruitment of faculty for programs;
- develops and promotes programs to encourage student participation in campus academic advisement and personal counseling;
- conducts and evaluates studies for the improvement of instructional, vocational, and technical education.
- Prepares and administers both operating and capital budgets as required for the development and continuance of programs and reviews and supervises utliization of space and facilities in order to maximize a most effective use of available facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Vocational, Technical, or related field; 3-5 years of teaching experience in secondary and higher education; 1-3 years experience in college administration; or a satisfactory combination thereof.
