Director of Evening and Extension Division (SL3)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating UnitThis title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but, instead receive five year renewable term appointments.

The Director of the Evening and Extension Division, under the supervision of a Dean or Vice President for Academic Affairs, administers an evening extension or special seminar program. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• recruiting faculty and lecturers for the program;
• addressing faculty concerns with curriculum, instructional methods, standards, appointments and promotion;
• overseeing the preparation of schedules, registration, adequacy of facilities, equipment, budget and other administrative matters for the program;
• coordinating student advisement by faculty members;
• and teaching courses as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D with several years of professional experience in higher education.
