Assistant for University Systems Analysis (SL4)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
ASSISTANT FOR UNIVERSITY SYSTEMS ANALYSIS, at a campus, performs functions similar to an Associate for University Systems Analysis but is responsible for smaller of less complex programs. Associate for University Systems Analysis (SL5) surveys the organization and operation of programs and offices.
- Initiates and directs organizational and administrative studies involving operating units and the adoption of new or revised methods and procedures;
- supervises, reviews, and approves survey reports, proposed operating reports, and work measurement programs;
- makes recommendations concerning the development of programs, policies, and procedures;
- undertakes development of significant survey projects;
- supervises the control and promulgation of procedures, statement of policies, and administrative manuals;
- studies active and potential problems and develops appropriate solutions;
- prepares analytical reports of recommendation for improvements in the use of personnel or material;
- simplifies systems and procedures in administrative and academic programs;
- provides services to administrative offices requiring advice on the use of computing systems;
- attempts to identify innovative areas where information systems could prove useful.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in educational administration, public administration, business administration or related field.
