Admissions Advisor (SL3)
This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, admissions positions are responsible for the student recruitment and admissions program at a campus. The office is involved with every aspect of this endeavor, from highest level of policy development to working with students with respect to individual admissions.
- Serves on the professional staff of a campus admissions office.
- Represents the campus to prospective students on campus, at secondary schools and community colleges, and at off-campus meetings.
- Is familiar with the admissions criteria for all the campus student categories.
- Can independently review high school and community college records and make admissions decisions.
- Is capable of providing detailed information on the campus curriculum, academic programs, residence hall programs and financial assistance.
- May participate in research and evaluation related to enrollment planning, demographic analysis and retention.
- Attends professional meetings and conferences as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree. General experience in admissions or related areas is required.
