Statement from Communications Director David Doyle

May 21, 2014

"Over the past several days SUNY has been in productive discussions with The Peebles Corporation and North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System to finalize a permanent healthcare solution for the Cobble Hill community upon SUNY's orderly exit from the operation of Long Island College Hospital. Although SUNY is legally permitted to exit the operation of Long Island College hospital tomorrow, in an effort of good faith SUNY will voluntarily maintain the current level of medical services at the Emergency Department, on a temporary basis as a final deal is reached."
