Governor Cuomo Announces Dynamax Imaging to Add High-Tech Jobs at SUNY Nanocollege's Smart System Technology & Commercialization Center

Increased capital investment and job creation at CNSE STC site in Greater Rochester region may also spur ‘reshoring' of manufacturing from overseas
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that Dynamax Imaging plans to add up to 50 high-tech positions over the next year at the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering's (CNSE) Smart System Technology & Commercialization Center (STC) in Canandaigua. This growth is being driven by opportunities to “reshore” existing overseas operations by leveraging access to CNSE's unmatched infrastructure supporting nanotechnology research, development, and commercialization, including CNSE's nano-fabrication infrastructure at CNSE's STC facility.
“Dynamax's decision to invest in Rochester is yet another testament to the quality of the region's workforce and its emerging status as a top location for businesses seeking both highly skilled workers and a welcoming environment to grow,” Governor Cuomo said. “Adding more jobs to New York's growing Nanotech corridor will continue to make our state a destination for jobs returning from overseas.”

Dynamax Imaging is a global leader in the development of high performance CMOS image sensors, which are used in a wide range of applications, including consumer products such as HDTV camcorders and flat-panel displays; imaging and biometrics technologies in the scientific sector; and security and surveillance systems for defense applications.
In March, Dynamax Imaging announced that it would install over $3 million in high-tech equipment at CNSE's STC facility. Utilizing several thousand square feet of office and nano-manufacturing cleanroom space, Dynamax is focusing on further development of its extensive and rapidly growing IP portfolio covering pixel, sensor, and system architectures, based on its novel Active Column Sensor™ (ACS®) technology.
The company recently participated in the Nano Job Fair held November 14 in Rochester, presented jointly by the Governor's Office, the New York State Department of Labor, and CNSE. At that event, Dynamax identified a number of prospective candidates to fill immediate openings for advanced cleanroom operators and technicians, and the company is now in the process of conducting a second round of interviews to fill these immediate openings.
