SUNY Interim Chancellor Deborah F. Stanley Statement on Long Island Investment Fund Grants to Farmingdale State College and Stony Brook University

"These transformational investments will power innovation across the region, creating opportunity and jobs for our students and researchers in some of the most viable, competitive economic sectors on Long Island, across the state, and the nation. Farmingdale's new center for Computer Science and Information Technology will expand its ability to prepare graduates to thrive in emerging digital technology fields while the investment in quantum internet test beds at Stony Brook will help their extraordinary work in creating a faster, more secure communication protecting exchange of information against eavesdropping. This is a result of Governor Hochul's far-reaching vision, the remarkable leadership and research at SUNY campuses, and our close partnership with Empire State Development and the Long Island REDC as we work to provide our students with the high-tech skills needed to fuel a thriving economy."
