SUNY Chancellor Johnson Announces Staff Appointments at System Administration

Albany – State University of New York Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson today appointed Travis Proulx as Associate Vice Chancellor for Government Affairs and Marketing and Leo Rosales as Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications.
About Travis Proulx
Proulx was previously Director of Communications and Digital Media for Metropolitan Public Strategies, where he developed and managed corporate, issue-based, and political campaigns. Previously, he was Communications Director for Environmental Advocates of New York, as well as the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
He was also Deputy Press Secretary for the New York State Senate and Communications Director for Senator Liz Krueger; while at the Senate he had a focus on budget, higher education, and environmental issues.
Proulx holds a master’s degree from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York and a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University. His appointment is effective immediately.
About Leo Rosales
Rosales previously served as Deputy Communications Director for Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and held that position for six years. His responsibilities included management of press operations and state agency communication staff and served as lead communications advisor on human services, energy, and environmental matters.
Previously, Rosales served as Director of Communications at the New York State Department of Labor, spokesperson at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Chicago and New York field offices, and served as legislative aide and communications advisor for several members in the New York State Legislature.
Rosales holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany. His appointment is effective immediately.
