New York Stands with Puerto Rico summer volunteering program

From June through August, SUNY had 250 student, faculty and staff volunteers representing 31 SUNY schools as part of Governor Cuomo’s New York Stands with Puerto Rico initiative. Working in five neighborhoods in and around San Juan and in the mountain region of Orocovis, volunteers rebuilt, restored and revitalized homes alongside CUNY and New York building tradespeople to assist more than 170 families. Volunteers worked through non-profit organizations All Hands and Hearts, NECHAMA and HEART 9/11.
