Students gain an understanding of facility design and development to collaborate on projects with architects and engineers. The program also prepares students for management positions in a sports arena, a state or national park, or an adventure sports facility.

Recreation & Sports Management
Degree Level: Associate

This program allows students to tailor their course of study to suit their career goals in the areas of sports, recreation, and physical education, outside of teaching. Students can also earn their New York State Coaching Certificate and complete their educational requirements to become certified as a Recreational Associate with the National Recreation and Park Association. Graduates enter the workforce with hands-on experience in real life situations with community and regional partners.

This program provides students with a set of learning experiences that enables them seamlessly transfer to a four-year program to pursue a degree in a number of areas. These areas include, but are not limited to, sport management, sport studies, coaching, recreation and leisure studies, and adventure education.

This program requires intensive work in visual arts studios supported by a program of general education. The curriculum focuses on drawing skills, concept development, experimentation, mixed media processes, narrative storytelling, historical research, and critical thinking. While students may choose to concentrate in either Animation or Illustration, many students choose to incorporate both disciplines in their senior-level work. In the recently renovated Rockefeller Arts Center, studios are accessible 24/7, and there are individualized spaces for upper-level students.

This program prepares students in all aspects of visual communications and graphic design. These include layout, production, typography, commercial print processes, illustration and computer graphics for entry level positions in graphic design, printing, publishing, desktop publishing, advertising, marketing, presentation graphics, game design, animation, multimedia, and communications. It also prepares students for successful portfolio reviews leading to acceptance to BA or BFA programs.
