Statement from Chancellor Malatras on Rockland Community College’s Graduation

May 20, 2021

"Rockland Community College President Baston leads from example—uplifting the campus while serving the needs of the broader community—and students, faculty, and staff have answered the call to help each other and those in need throughout the pandemic. In particular, we applaud the college's nursing students who were on campus to conduct COVID-19 testing and then administer life-saving vaccines. Even though students of the great nursing profession, they are among the many healthcare heroes during this crisis, and with their graduation successfully earned, they will go on to join the ranks in hospitals, private practices, and other healthcare institutions.

We congratulate all of today's graduates. They have persevered to get to this milestone—determined to meet challenges head on and now equipped with an excellent education from RCC—and we look forward to what they will accomplish next."
