October 7, 2024
"Today, we solemnly mark the anniversary of October 7, a day when horrific acts of terrorism sent waves of grief throughout Israel and the global community. At SUNY, we remember the victims of these atrocities, pray for the safe return of hostages, and extend our deepest sympathies to the families still mourning their loss. We stand with our Jewish students, faculty, and staff, and all who continue to feel the profound impact of that tragic day.
"SUNY remains unwavering in its commitment to making all members of our community feel safe, respected, and supported on our campuses. There is no room for hate, antisemitism, or any form of discrimination or violence at SUNY.
"As we reflect on this painful anniversary, we also reaffirm our values of empathy, respect, and unity to guide our actions including our dedication to protecting the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. Our shared strength comes from standing together, supporting one another, and ensuring that all individuals can pursue their education free from fear or prejudice."
