The State University of New York offers tuition matching to help make SUNY’s excellent education more accessible and affordable for students outside New York State. 

If you live in one of the states listed below, you may be able to attend a SUNY college or university for the tuition and fees at your in-state public flagship.

No. You don’t need to do anythingIf you apply and are accepted to one of the 19 participating SUNY campuses from any of the 8 designated states, the campus you are applying to will automatically apply a cost adjustment to match the tuition and fees of your home-state flagship. 

The tuition match applies to students starting in Fall of 2024 at one of the 19 participating SUNY campuses from any of the 8 designated states. 

The tuition match is renewable for up to four years by maintaining full-time status, a minimum GPA, and housing requirements- the details of this will be set by each SUNY school that offers you admission.
