Zimpher, Chancellor Subject: Stony Brook University Hospital - Quality Assessment Review Board I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution: Whereas by Resolution 2007-28, adopted March 20, 2007, the State University Board of Trustees established a Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital; and Whereas Resolution 2007-28 provides that members of the Quality Assessment Review Board shall be appointed by the State University Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the Chancellor, in consultation with the President of Stony Brook University; now, therefore, be it Resolved that Dr. Mark Graber, Ms. Adriann Combs and Mr. Andrew Biondo be, and hereby are, appointed as members of the Quality Assessment Review Board for a three year term. Background By Resolution 2007-28, adopted March 20, 2007, the State University Board established the Quality Assessment Review Board for Stony Brook University Hospital, and established the role, function, membership, and qualifications for membership thereof. By Resolution 2007-99, adopted May 31, 2007, the State University Board appointed the initial members of the Quality Assessment Review Board. The Quality Assessment Review Board consists of 9-12 external members and no more than three ex officio members recommended by the Chancellor, in consultation with the President of Stony Brook University, and appointed by the State University Board. Five external members must be distinguished residents of Suffolk County, two external members must be residents of New York State who are physicians in good standing, and at least one member must be a registered nurse employed by Stony Brook University Hospital. By this resolution, the State University Board appoints Dr. Mark Graber, Ms. Adriann Combs and Mr. Andrew Biondo. Ms. Combs replaces Michael Davidson as the registered nurse member.
