Action Requested

	The proposed resolution approves the naming of a building at the University of Buffalo.

Resolution

	I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution:

Resolved  that the naming of a new engineering building at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, as Barbara and Jack Davis Hall, be, and hereby is, approved.

Background

		In recognition of a gift of $5 million and the bequest of their estate by John R. (�Jack�) Davis and his wife Barbara, the resolution approves the naming of a new engineering building at the University at Buffalo as Barbara and Jack Davis Hall.

		Since 2008, Mr. Davis, a University at Buffalo Industrial Engineering graduate of the Class of 1955, and his wife Barbara, have made gifts totaling $5 million to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences to enhance the new engineering building currently under construction on the University at Buffalo�s North Campus.  Mr. and Mrs. Davis have also pledged to leave the balance of their estate to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences upon their deaths.
