Committee Purpose:  The Education, College Readiness and Success Committee provides policy direction and oversight for the development of a comprehensive system of partnerships between SUNY’s 64 campuses and Pre-K-12 schools, business leaders, and other partners dedicated to strengthening the education pipeline so more students graduate from college prepared to succeed in the workforce.  The Committee also provides oversight for SUNY’s responsibilities regarding the chartering of schools.

Committee Charge:   The charge of the Education, College Readiness and Success Committee is to review and make recommendations, when necessary, to the Full Board on:

• Education Pipeline activities, including –

- Cradle-to-Career partnerships
- SUNY Works/Co-operative education
- STEM education
- Smart Scholars Early College High Schools

• Clinically-rich teacher education and professional development

• Remediation

• Liaison with the NYS Education Department and the Board of Regents

• Lifelong learning

• Charter schools
