Zimpher, Chancellor Subject: Appointment of Richard Carreno as Interim President at the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville I recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the following resolution: Resolved that the appointment of Richard J. Carreno as Interim President of the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville, at a State salary of $172,000 effective January 13, 2011, be and hereby is, approved. This appointment will continue until September 1, 2011 or until such time as the Board of Trustees, by resolution, appoints a successor, whichever is later. Background I recommend that Richard J. Carreno be appointed Interim President of the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville. A highly respected member of the SUNY Morrisville community for almost 35 years, Mr. Carreno has served, since 1976, in many different capacities. For the past year, he has been Vice President for Administrative Services, acting as chief fiscal officer for the college providing leadership for all administrative, managerial and business areas. Prior to his position as Vice President for Administrative Services, he was for two years the Vice President for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness and for six years before that, he was the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources/Executive Assistant to the President. In these positions he was the primary advisor to the President and responsible for Human Resources and the direction of the college�s public relations and marketing efforts. For the period between 1976 and 1999, Mr. Carreno served as Director of Human Resources, Affirmative Action Officer, Budget Analyst and taught organizational behavior and supervisory skills programs as an adjunct faculty member of the college. Before his tenure at Morrisville, Mr. Carreno was a Marketing Analyst at Marine Midland Bank. Mr. Carreno received his bachelor�s of science degree in business administration from SUNY Fredonia, and his master�s of science degree in management from SUNY Binghamton. He has been very active in numerous professional activities at SUNY Morrisville and on a State-wide level, as well as being involved in many community activities. Mr. Carreno would serve from January 13, 2011 to September 1, 2011 or until such time as the Board of Trustees, by resolution, appoints his successor, whichever is later.
