John L. Murad, Jr. was appointed to the SUNY Board of Trustees June 3, 2009 to a term that will expire June 30, 2013.
Mr. Murad is a partner in the Syracuse, New York Law Firm of Hancock & Estabrook, LLP, where he has practiced since 1983. He has served as the Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department and on its Executive Committee. Mr. Murad graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. (cum laude) in 1980 and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1983. Mr. Murad was appointed to the Board in June of 2009.
Mr. Murad is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is active in several Bar Associations. He has served as the Chair of the Onondaga-Oswego Chapter of the American Red Cross and presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Onondaga Historical Association.
Mr. Murad, who was born in Utica, New York, presently resides in Jamesville, New York with his wife Renee L. James and their three children, Matthew, Bess and Patrick.
