Harvey F. Wachsman Upper Brookville, New York

Harvey F. Wachsman, M.D., J.D., was appointed to the SUNY Board of Trustees in 1995 and reappointed in 1998. A neurosurgeon and medical malpractice trial lawyer, Dr. Wachsman is a partner at The Law Offices of Harvey F. Wachsman, M.D., J.D., LLP in Great Neck, N.Y. and New York, N.Y. He is a native of Brooklyn and earned a B.A. from Tulane University, an M.D. from Chicago Medical School and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Dr. Wachsman is president of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. He has served as an adjunct professor of neurological surgery at the SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine and as an adjunct professor of law at St. John's University School of Law and Brooklyn Law School. He is the author of Lethal Medicine and co-author of American Law of Medical Malpractice, 6 volumes, first and second edition.

Dr. Wachsman is married to Kathryn M. Wachsman, J.D., has eight children, and lives in Upper Brookville.
