Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) Degree Bridge Partnership

A new partnership with METC providing health/medical related degree programs delivered 100% online is here at SUNY. Our faculty have evaluated and confirmed 10 METC courses that can provide college credit toward 19 different degree programs for military servicemembers and veterans who are METC graduates.

New Lower Tuition Rate for Active-Duty Military, National Guard, and Reserve

Starting in Fall 2026, all SUNY colleges will offer undergraduate tuition at or below the Federal Military Tuition Assistance cap, currently set at $250 per credit.

Get Academic Credit for Your Military Experience

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) at SUNY will help you save time and money by awarding college credit for demonstrated knowledge gained outside of the classroom (Credit for Prior Learning), including military education and training.

Use the Service Counts at SUNY searchable database to view military training that has already been approved for college credit at SUNY. Military education and training that is not currently listed in the database will be reviewed by the SUNY campus and be added to the database upon approval.

Request your official Joint Services Transcript or CCAF Transcript to be sent to the SUNY campus of your choice, or if applying to multiple SUNY campuses, you can have your official JST or CCAF transcript sent to the Recruitment Response Center who will forward it to each campus.

SUNY hosted an information webinar on July 10, 2025 in partnership with the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC). Lisa Simpson, Director of Grants and Scholarships at HESC, presented the recent changes to the Veterans Tuition Award (VTA) that are effective as of July 1, 2025. VTA eligibility has been expanded to include all veterans who served a minimum of four years of active-duty service and are New York State residents.

The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. To view and print a copy of an estimated personalized cost of attendance you can visit the SUNY Net Price Cost Calculator and select (put campus name here) from the dropdown. Additional financial information can be found at the NCES College Navigator site.

The SUNY Financial Aid Plan (FAP) will provide a more in-depth analysis and accurate picture of student cost once the student has filed their FAFSA, completed a SUNY application, and has been accepted by a campus.
