Weekly Farmers’ Market Moves Inside SUNY Plaza for the Season

Albany – The FreshConnect Farmers’ Market at SUNY Plaza, which is held every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be moving inside the System Administration building beginning tomorrow, for the fall and winter months. Vendors will be set up in the first-floor Gallery and Arcade.

“We are proud to support Capital District farmers and vendors with the year-round Farmers’ Market at SUNY Plaza, and to welcome visitors to this beautiful, historic building,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “SUNY campuses across New York State are engaged in community outreach and activities that add vibrancy to their local communities, and we are happy to do the same for downtown Albany.”

The Farmers’ Market features a growing number of farmers and vendors, including:

  • Curly One by Beth – Homemade Jewelry                           
  • Nine Pin Ciderworks, Inc. – Homemade Ciders
  • Lucky Turn Farms – Bread and Cakes                                

Chancellor Zimpher, in partnership with Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s FreshConnect initiative, the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, the City of Albany, and the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District, opened the Farmers’ Market at SUNY Plaza in June.
