Statement from SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher on Timothy Killeen Appointment as University of Illinois President

“Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Killeen on his recent appointment as the next president of the University of Illinois. Tim is a visionary leader who will undoubtedly thrive in this nationally prominent position, where he will oversee the state’s three-campus system of public higher education, the nation’s largest medical school, and a diverse and successful research portfolio.
“Whether it was serving Governor Cuomo on important policy-driving commissions, developing strong scientific Networks of Excellence across our campuses, or hosting leading international researchers, Tim has been an outstanding representative and advocate for the State University of New York, and it has been our honor to work with him over the last two years.
