Statement from SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher on 2014-2015 New York State Budget

This year's state budget is good for taxpayers and good for New York's students. This fiscally-responsible budget of property and other tax relief will help grow the economy so that our graduates can use their world class education to obtain good jobs right here in New York.
In this year's budget, SUNY continues its role as the state's economic engine with another round of NYSUNY 2020 and meeting today's job market needs by creating full scholarships in the STEM disciplines.
We thank the Governor and the Legislature for an increased commitment to our capital and operating needs.
About the State University of New York
The State University of New York is the largest comprehensive system of higher education in the United States, and more than 95 percent of all New Yorkers live within 30 miles of any one of SUNY’s 64 colleges and universities.
