January 8, 2014
DELHI, NY (readMedia) — SUNY Delhi ranks number one in the nation among the hundreds of colleges and universities offering bachelor's programs online, according to U.S. News & World Report. The exclusive rankings are available at www.usnews.com/online.
SUNY Delhi was rated for the 2014 edition of the Best Online Bachelor's Programs rankings based on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology.
"We are thrilled to be recognized for our innovation and comprehensive approaches to online learning," said SUNY Delhi President Candace S. Vancko. "Delhi's online RN to BSN program is a prime example of how the college is providing support services that help online learners be successful."
"Congratulations to President Vancko and all of the faculty and staff at SUNY Delhi who contributed to this outstanding recognition as the top destination nationally for online bachelor's degree programs," said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. "SUNY is focused on educating more New Yorkers and educating them better than ever before, and increased access to the online courses offered across SUNY is one way we are achieving these goals. As we continue toward the introduction of Open SUNY, the system's comprehensive delivery of online education for all students, SUNY Delhi's leadership will be a critical component."
Delhi's first online baccalaureate offering, the RN to BSN was launched in 2008 and has grown steadily, enrolling 745 students this spring. "The BSN program is an affordable, accessible option for those who wish to further their nursing education. Students benefit from a state-of-the-art curriculum that is delivered by faculty with the highest credentials in the field," said Dr. Mary Pat Lewis, Dean of SUNY Delhi's School of Nursing. Delhi has been commended by accrediting agencies for the program's curricular design and quality of instruction, and its strong academic support, particularly in the areas of advisement and technology.
As a continuation of Delhi's smart growth strategies, the college has expanded its online options to include a fully online baccalaureate degree program in Criminal Justice, the first online Criminal Justice Bachelor of Science degree to be introduced within the State University of New York, and summer school courses that serve over 1,000 students annually.
SUNY Delhi is a member of the State University of New York, the largest comprehensive university system in the U.S. Delhi's seamless approach to education includes over 60 academic programs leading to baccalaureate degrees in specialized program areas, including Hospitality Management, Business and Professional Golf Management, Golf Course Management, Information Technology Management, Architectural Design and Building, Construction Management, Business and Technology Management and Criminal Justice.
