Statement from SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher on SUNY Buffalo State Challenge Grant
August 19, 2014
“Congratulations to SUNY Buffalo State on the commitment of a $1.25 million challenge grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for student fellowships in the college’s art conservation program. Mellon Foundation grants are highly competitive and this opportunity speaks volumes about the value and quality of a SUNY Buffalo State education in the arts.
“Private investment in our campuses is vital as SUNY seeks to increase access, completion, and success for all students while maintaining affordability in today’s economy.
“I am confident that President Conway-Turner and the faculty, staff, and students at SUNY Buffalo State will come together to raise the funds needed to meet the terms of the challenge grant, and thank the Mellon Foundation for this exciting opportunity.”
