Journalism Without Walls

Offered by Stony Brook University

Locations:  China, Cuba, India, Russia, Turkey

“Journalism Without Walls,” offered through Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism, provides students an opportunity to learn their craft outside the classroom. The goal is to provide student journalists with a broader and deeper understanding of the world. Previous projects have included: A week-long exploration of Havana; a month-long exploration of St. Petersburg and Northern Russia and a three week long journey along China’s legendary Silk Road.  Most recently, our Journalism students spent time in Istanbul, Turkey and will be headed to Bangalore, India during Summer 2015.  Students’ work will be professionally published on the Journalism School's web site.
