University College London was the third university established in England with an academic excellence that has produced 10 Nobel Prize winners. UCL is located in the Bloomsbury district, within walking distance to museums, libraries, Regent's Park, and the London Zoo. Participants in the UCL program will attend the same classes, live in the same housing, and participate in the same social, cultural, athletic, and academic extracurricular activities as their British counterparts in central London. Participants are candidates for admission to one or two departments where they will take the majority of their courses. (NOTE: Only students admitted to the Department of English Literature are allowed to take courses within this department - students admitted to other departments who are interested in taking a literature course are advised to apply for entry to Comparative Literature). Fields of study include anthropology, archeology, economics, engineering, history, humanities, languages, linguistics, literature, math, and natural sciences. Housing is in university-owned residence halls. Typically, fall semester runs from early September to mid-December and spring from early February to June. The University of Cumbria was formed in 2007 from an amalgamation of St. Martin's College, Cumbria Institute of the Arts, and the Cumbrian campuses of the University of Central Lancashire. It now boasts over 12,000 students.

The University offers a very high-quality learning experience in a supportive environment which enables you to achieve your personal and professional potential at whichever campus you choose to study within the University of Cumbria system.

The main campuses are located in the historic cities of Lancaster and Carlisle and both cities enjoy a city centre, castles, museums, boutique shops, restaurant and coffee shops located a short walk from either campus . Local nightlife buzzes with live music, nightclubs, theatre and film events. Both cities are an easy 2-3 hour commute to/from London by high speed train.

London Metropolitan University offers a wide range of courses to a student population of over 20,000. The University possesses an experienced, well-qualified staff excited to welcome you to their campus.  As a study abroad student, you may take courses in areas ranging from business, law, governance, international relations, psychology, computing, math and social sciences and humanities.

You will be taught by nationally recognized research faculty and have the option to participate in an internship. You will also have the opportunity to join numerous clubs and intramural sports teams.  Additionally, aficionados of music, film, dance, theater, comedy, sport, and culinary delights of all cuisines will find that London provides endless opportunities.

Students are fully integrated into the academic and social life of the University and study alongside British students at either the North or City campus. Students will take four modules (three credits each) or an internship with three modules for a total of 12 U.S. credits.

London Theatre Seminar, London

Students get to know the historical, cultural, and creative traditions of British theater as they attend and then discuss six plays. This two-week seminar provides access to the best available performances at both the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as other interesting works in the West End, Fringe, and experimental theaters. In the past, excursions outside the city went to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare's birthplace), or Bath.
