Russian Laguage, History and Culture

Locations:  Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow)

Students will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia for a three week learning experience accompanied by Fredonia faculty. St. Petersburg is Russia's second largest city and is often described as the most Western European styled city of Russia. When not in class, students will have an opportunity to visit the many interesting sights that St. Petersburg has to offer. The Hermitage Museum includes the former imperial residence and a vast collection of art. There are many amazing palaces, among them are Peterhof, with its majestic fountain cascades and parks, and the famous baroque Catherine Palace. Students will have a chance to visit Moscow for a few days as well.

Students study at Russia's oldest University located in one of the world's most famous, beautiful, and cultured cities. Coursework includes intensive Russian language courses at all levels. For beginning and intermediate language students, courses offered in English include Russian Politics, Russian History, and International Relations. For advanced Russian speakers courses are also available in Linguistics, Russian Literature and Culture, Eastern Studies, Journalism, History, International Relations, Psychology, Computer Science, and other fields.
