The University at Albany offers an exchange program for students at Tilburg University, located in the southern part of the Netherlands. Tilburg is known for its high standards in education and scientific research and in nationwide rankings, Tilburg has come out on top for the past few years. Students enroll in regular university courses taught in English in the Schools of Business, Economics, Law, Communication, Education, International Studies, and Social and Behavioral Sciences (including psychology). Dutch language courses are also offered. The program at Tilburg University is academically challenging. Course work in business administration, economics, international studies, and social sciences are available for our students. Because these are considered upper-division courses, students must have previous knowledge in the area they wish to study and meet prerequisites set by the host university. You should be sure you are sufficiently prepared before deciding on a specific area of study.

Leiden University

Leiden University is the oldest university in the Netherlands. Since its inception, the university has maintained a prestigious place in academia, with four of its faculty members receiving the Nobel Prize in the 20th century. The University is located 8 miles from the coast and is less than 30 miles from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at Leiden University. Prior to departure, participants select three courses available to study abroad students at Leiden University. All instruction is by LU faculty. Courses are available in liberal arts and Dutch studies. Typically, fall semester runs from early September through mid-December; spring from early February through mid-June. Amsterdam School of Business

This program is a one-for-one undergraduate exchange concentrating on finance, international trade, and marketing. Students are enrolled in regular classes taught in English at one of the Netherlands' largest business schools, located in the heart of a city where culture and commerce go hand in hand. Courses are also available in accounting, computing, law, and management. Students are required to enroll in either Dutch for foreign students, beginning Spanish, or, if they have previously studied French, German, or Spanish, in a business language course in one of those languages. Students live in apartment buildings where the school reserves space

Utrecht School of Economics Exchange Program

Utrecht University ranks first among Dutch universities and is highly competitive among universities in Europe.  Students take courses in the Utrecht School of Economics (USE), in the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance.  USE has an English-language track, in which all courses are taught in English.  They take a multidisciplinary approach that fosters the integration of and collaboration between general economics and business economics.  Participation is for the academic year or the fall or spring semester.  Each semester is divided into two periods, and students take two courses each period.  Academics at USE are rigorous, and students should expect to work hard and independently. 

The historic city of Utrecht, with its charming canals and outdoor terraces, is the 4th largest city in the Netherlands.  Located in the center of the country with Amsterdam just 30 minutes, and Paris 4 hours, away by train, the central location allows students to take advantage of the charms of campus life and a scenic location with easy access to fascinating travel destinations around Europe.  With a population of over 300,000, it is a vibrant, sociable city.  Rich with culture, Utrecht offers musuems, festivals, Cultural Sundays, the City-theatre and concert hall.  The long history of this 2000-year old city is evident in its ancience churches, the Dom Tower, and the old inner-city of small streets, canals and cellars.
