Summer in Tanzania, An Academic Safari

Karibu Tanzania (Welcome to Tanzania)!  Stony Brook University offers students the opportunity to experience the cultural and natural landscapes of northern Tanzania on an academic and service learning safari.  The itinerary includes one week at Stony Brook University campus with an intensive classroom introduction to the history, culture, and Kiswahili (the national language of Tanzania), and then three weeks “in country” at four different locations.  This latter portion of the schedule will include a four day safari to game parks including: Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. There will be a focus on health facilities and delivery systems in this developing country.
