The search for SUNY's next provost

The Chancellor of the State University of New York has established a search committee to select the next provost of the SUNY System—the largest comprehensive public higher education system in the United States.

Leading SUNY's 64 community, statutory and comprehensive colleges, research universities, academic medical centers, and teaching hospitals is both a unique challenge and an extraordinary opportunity.

The composition of the search committee signals our commitment to both deepening and elevating SUNY’s diversity and educational excellence while expanding our global reach and influence. We will conduct a rigorous search that attracts a highly qualified and diverse pool of candidates who put students at the center of their decision-making processes.

In addition, on behalf of the Search Committee, we hope the SUNY community, the people of the State of New York, prospective candidates, and any other stakeholders will provide input and raise any questions or concerns. This is a collaborative process, and one where every person’s voice is considered and valued.
