This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Positions in this family are charged with the express function of providing training and development to employees either within a specific department or on a house-wide basis, on usage of various equipment, orientation to intra- or interdepartmental procedures, and/or on highly specialized technical skills.
Provides training for the development of highly specialized skills on a technical level. Courses may be offered to all employees house-wide, or to employees of a specific unit or department to further enhance the employee's ability to successfully meet the expectations of the job. Includes providing technical expertise on a consultative basis where needed. (i.e., higher level PC training classes in Information Systems or ICU/OR training in Nursing).
In each level, qualifications will depend on the department or area where the position is found. For example: an Inservice Educator III in Nursing will require an RN as well as a BS; an Inservice Educator in Information Systems may require and Associates Degree and six years of relevant experience.
