POSITION GUIDE

 

POSITION:                                              CSTEP/EOP COORDINATOR

 

REPORTS TO:                                       DIRECTOR STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES OF

 

DEPARTMENT:                                      OFFICE OF STUDENT SUPPORT PROGRAMS

 

BROAD FUNCTION:

Coordinate activities of CSTEP and EOP programs, which take place in the One-Stop Center, the Office of Student Finance, and the Office of Student Support Programs, in compliance with the guidelines and policies of NY State Department of Education, NY State Office of Opportunity Programs, and OCC. Reports to the Director of Student Support Programs.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.         Completes all reporting for CSTEP and EOP. This includes all NY State Office of Opportunity, all NY State Department of Education, and all OCC reports (budget, counseling, final, enrollment, summer and tutoring reports).

 

2.         Assists Office of Student Recruitment and Communications in recruiting CSTEP and EOP students.

 

3.         Reviews prospective CSTEP and EOP students for admission into appropriate program.

 

4.         Coordinates with One-Stop, counseling and faculty on advisement and counseling activities of CSTEP and EOP students.

 

5.         Coordinates with Office of Student Finance on financial aid for CSTEP and EOP students.

 

6.         Coordinates with all OCC departments to improve internal activities and procedures regarding their respective departments for CSTEP and EOP students.

 

7.         Initiates and implements enrichment activities for CSTEP and EOP students, as appropriate to the respective contracts.

 

8.         Develops and maintains contact with community agencies, and community-based advisory committees.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in education, administration, counseling or a related field required. Must have experience coordinating services for minority and/or under prepared/non-traditional college students. Significant computer, database/information management and reporting experience, as well as organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, are necessary.
