Appointment:          38 weeks, 20 hours/week

I.        Scope of Responsibility:  This part-time, grant-funded position supports the development  and implementation of applied learning experiences at the Cattaraugus County Campus. The goal is to support applied learning in all academic programs for which it is relevant, and to expand efforts to include unique and specialized learning experiences. This position provides support for current faculty efforts in various academic programs, and facilitates applied learning opportunities in areas where no current identified leadership or established experiences exist.  This individual manages a centralized process of creating applied learning opportunities, matching students to these experiences, and providing ongoing oversight and assessment of the program. 

 

II.      Essential Functions:  Working in concert with faculty and academic affairs administrators, this individual:

 

1.      Provides leadership and support for the initiation and implementation of applied learning opportunities including internships, job shadowing, workplace tours, professional mentorship, and undergraduate research aligned with experiences in academic programs. 

2.      Coordinates an advisory group which provides input to planning for new applied learning opportunities.

3.      Manages administrative tasks associated with applied learning development, such as contracts with host sites and promotion.

4.      Creates and implements a model for assessment of applied learning efforts to measure achievement of goals and identify directions for program development and innovation.

5.      Regular attendance.

V.      Qualifications:

 

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in relevant area.  Experience in developing and maintaining business relationships in a professional setting. 

 

Preferred:  Master’s degree in relevant area.  Experience with project management, electronic marketing communication tools, and higher education.
