Building on the 2017 and 2018 External Partnerships Boot Camp events, this year’s convening will explore partnerships that enhance program sustainability, meet critical workforce needs, and drive innovation. The event, developed in collaboration with the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the University Economic Development Association (UEDA), will bring together representatives from five SUNY Communities of Practice – Apprenticeship, Clean Energy, Corporate Engagement, High Needs, and New Models – to engage in a range of interactive activities, presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.

  • How do you expand your partnership portfolio while maintaining existing relationships?
  • How are innovative education strategies part of a strong foundation to build programs and initiatives with partners?

  • How can you integrate partnerships into your current day-to-day operations?
Workforce/Economic Development and Community Partnerships
  • How can all SUNY campuses further a workforce/economic development agenda through partner/employer engagement?
  • How do campuses determine local workforce needs and collaboratively develop programming to address those needs?
  • How do campuses established themselves as assets and partners within their communities?
  • How have micro-credentials been created in partnership with employers to meet employment needs?
Student-Centered Partnership Development
  • How are students benefiting from established partnerships?
  • How are partnerships designed to prioritize student learning outcomes and increase program relevancy?
  • How can incorporating applied learning into courses expand partnerships?
