9. Management Structure for Continued Collaboration and Implementation (continued)
- The Steering Committee investigates why larger percentages of students with disabilities enroll in two-year
institutions than four-year. The Committee also identifies which two-year colleges are particularly successful in
encouraging students with disabilities to pursue bachelor degrees.
- The Steering Committee continually evaluates funding mechanisms with the goal of developing data-based funding
strategies, including data concerning the expenditure of funds for students with disabilities in postsecondary
education, coordinated to the greatest extent possible with current federal and state data gathering requirements.
- The Steering Committee appoints, on an as-needed basis, expert panels to guide future policy discussions.
The Committee will be named within six months of the formal adoption of the Task Force Report.
