Teacher Education Program Transfer Information for SUNY Potsdam

Overall GPA Entrance Requirement
GPA minimum of 2.5 overall for AA/AS degree

Requirements for Major/Concentration
Lower-division specialization and pre-requisite courses should be completed at the two-year college prior to transfer.

Majors/Concentrations for Students in Teacher Preparation Programs

Childhood/Early Childhood
must be directly related to the elementary curriculum
Specializations in Biology, Chemistry, English, Environmental Studies, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Social Science/History available.

Adolescence Education
a major in the certification sought
Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English Language Arts, French, Mathematics, Physics, Social Studies and Spanish

Other Application Requirements
SUNY application. Official transcripts should be sent directly to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at SUNY Potsdam from the Registrar at each college previously attended. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for admission with a 2.0 minimum required for each course to be applied toward certification.
